Inside Heartland Star Amber Marshall’s Rustic Ranch Wedding

Okay, Heartland fans, grab your tissues and your cowboy boots – because Amber Marshall’s actual wedding day? It makes Amy Fleming’s story look like a warm-up act! ✨ Years before Amy walked down the aisle on screen, real-life horse-whisperer Amber (just 25!) married her photographer beau, Shawn Turner, in a celebration so authentically them, it’ll melt your heart.
Venue? They didn’t even hesitate
Fancy resorts? Destination beaches? Nah. For Amber and Shawn (26 at the time), only ONE spot made sense: HOME. Their own jaw-dropping ranch near High River, Alberta – yep, the exact backdrop of Heartland itself. 🌄
“We’re both total homebodies,” Amber said later. “Right away, we were like, ‘Yep. It’s happening here.’”
And honestly, how perfect is that?. They literally met at a horse show! Animals are their love language. And get this – zero professional planners. They DIY’d the whole thing with friends and fam. “We planned it ourselves, and honestly? It wasn’t stressful,” Amber said. The sweetest part? SHAWN BUILT THE ALTAR HIMSELF. “The most beautiful memento,” Amber sighed. And honestly? It was.
Her Arrival? Just Like a Movie (But Real)
Alberta sun, blue sky, 150 friends and family gathered in the grass. And Amber? She rode in sidesaddle on her horse Hawk—her dad right there beside her (after learning how to lead Hawk for the big moment). She wore a simple strapless dress and held a lilac bouquet her grandmother made.
It was one of those moments that feels both huge and somehow completely down to earth.
Even though she’s used to cameras, Amber said the ceremony felt incredibly real.
“I was SO emotional,” she shared. “I thought I’d be nervous, but it was just pure joy.”
Their Exit? EVEN BETTER.
First kiss as husband and wife? Check. Then… they jumped on their horses and GALLOPED AWAY! 🐎💨 “The applause kinda spooked them,” Amber laughed, “so they took off FAST! It was EPIC.” Can you IMAGINE the cheers?! Absolute LEGENDS.

The Party: Just Boots, BBQ, and Big Smiles
Under dreamy white tents, the vibe was chill perfection. Amber insisted: “Wear jeans and boots! Be comfy! DANCE!” No stuffy suits or wobbling heels here. And the food? Catered by the SAME crew that feeds the Heartland cast – a delicious little nod to her other life. 🤠🎉
When Her Heartland Fam Showed Up? TEARS.
Michelle Morgan (on-screen sis Lou) and Chris Potter (TV dad Tim) weren’t just guests – they were FAMILY. “I don’t have a sister,” Amber shared, “but having Michelle there? It meant everything. She is my sister.” 😭 After 6 seasons, these co-stars are ride-or-die.

Heartfelt dad speeches? Check. A toast from Chris Potter and the cast? Check. First dance to “Timing is Everything”? PERFECTION. 💫
The Honeymoon? Had to Wait… Because DRAMA!
With Heartland filming ASAP? No jet-setting just yet. “Shawn’s crazy busy too,” Amber shrugged. Typical ranch life! 👏
While Amy’s story played out for cameras, Amber and Shawn’s real-life love story? That’s the longest, sweetest season yet. A day that screamed THEM: grounded, passionate, surrounded by true family (blood and chosen), and 1000% authentic. 💖

I am so thrilled for Amber and Shawn. I have been watching Heartland on Roku for about six months and I absolutely love it. It's my #1 go-to show. I feel like they are part of my family and the setting of the ranch with all the animals and beautiful scenery is a place I would love to retire. God bless you, Amber and Shawn and may your love last forever. 💞😍
I think Shawn and Amber make a really beautiful couple and unless I am behind the times, I think they are very much in ❤️ love! I would have loved to be at their wedding but we have to except what life throws at us. Amber and Shawn have a wonderful life and I will see you on the 25th!

I am so happy for Amber (Amy) and Shawn. I have watched Heartland from the very first episode. I have laughed, cried, and felt a real connection with the show and all the people in it. I will have to say that I do miss Ty being on the show. I also miss Mallory. I loved watching her grow up. I knew from the very first time that she met Jake that they were made for each other. I want to say Thank You very much for giving us a show that is forever going to be my number one show. I honestly love every person in Heartland. I really wish I could live in a place like that. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️👍
