Fans are still mourning the loss of Linda Reagan, a beloved character on "Blue Bloods."

The long-running CBS procedural drama "Blue Bloods" has seen its share of characters come and go, led by Tom Selleck as the steadfast patriarch, Frank Reagan. Along with Frank's children, Danny, Erin, and Jamie, the show has consistently delivered compelling storylines and thought-provoking family dinner scenes, but one departure still stings for many fans: the death of Linda Reagan, played by Amy Carlson.

Linda's off-screen death in a helicopter crash between Seasons 7 and 8 left fans upset and wanting a proper send-off.

Linda, the wife of Detective Danny Reagan and a nurse at St. Victor's Hospital, was a beloved character for seven seasons. Her tragic off-screen death in a helicopter crash between Seasons 7 and 8 left fans reeling and the character without a proper send-off.

Amy Carlson, who played Linda, has been touched by the outpouring of fan support and expressed her own sadness over the character's abrupt departure.

On the show's subreddit, fans continue to express their sadness over Linda's absence. Some miss her unique perspective as the only family member not in law enforcement, while others lament the way her death was handled. One fan commented, "She wasn't exactly my favorite character, but I hate how her character was killed off-screen."

Sorry to agree she added nothing to the show. I am speaking of the character only not the actress. It would have been a great storyline if they had done it right and showed it.

  4. Mary Alicea says:

I thought I missed her death and kept going back to my DVR recordings and watching them from season 7 to 12 over and over. I watched it all day and night on Wednesday. My favorite show even though they should have let the people who’s been watching it for years. They let everyone see her get shot and almost died. They should have shown the helicopter accident. I’m still loving the show though
