Heartland Season 20 U.S. Premiere: UP Faith & Family Date, Schedule and Watch Party

American Heartland fans, it's finally our turn.

While Canada has been riding along with Season 20 since early October, U.S. viewers have been patiently (okay, not so patiently) waiting. The wait is almost over: Heartland Season 20 premieres in the U.S. on Thursday, November 19, 2026, streaming exclusively on UP Faith & Family.

When and where to watch

UP Entertainment confirmed the date in its official press release, and TV Insider reported the same Thursday debut. New episodes land weekly on Thursdays, so the second episode drops right on Thanksgiving Day, November 26. Honestly, is there a better side dish than a fresh hour of Hudson?

There's a holiday pause built in, too. According to TV Insider, the show takes a four-week break before coming back on Thursday, January 14, 2027, which gives everyone time to catch up between family dinners. UP's help page schedule lists the weekly drops through December, so keep an eye on it in case the exact break dates shift.

UP Faith & Family costs $5.99 a month and is also available as a channel through Prime Video, Apple TV, The Roku Channel, YouTube, Sling, Xfinity and others, per the press release.

A watch party on premiere night

This part is fun. UP is hosting an exclusive live virtual watch party on premiere night for subscribers, so you can watch the first episode alongside other fans and react in real time. Crissie Miller, UP Entertainment's vice president of content strategy, said in the announcement that UP is "thrilled to once again bring Season 20 to our subscribers so close to its Canadian premiere." She described the watch party as a chance for fans to celebrate and connect as the story continues.

What's coming for the Bartlett-Fleming family

No big spoilers here, promise. But UP's official season synopsis gives us plenty to chew on:

  • Amy's big decision. Amber Marshall's Amy has to figure out her future with Nathan and what it would mean for her life at Heartland.
  • A new rival. A horse-savvy newcomer with a flair for fashion and a big online following rides into town, and Amy isn't sure she trusts her motives.
  • Lou's next chapter. Michelle Morgan's Lou has a new business idea, but Katie growing up has her facing some real fears.
  • Jack and Dex. Shaun Johnston's Jack is slow to trust Dex again, but once Dex shows he's serious about changing, Jack helps him find his way in rodeo and in life.

And yes, Alisha Newton is back as Georgie this season.

Canadian fans already know things get intense fast. If you don't mind a peek ahead, our breakdown of Episode 5, "Once Bitten," and Amy's rattlesnake scare shows just how wild this season gets. (Spoiler warning for U.S. viewers!)

Twenty seasons and still going

It's hard to overstate how big this milestone is. Heartland is Canada's longest-running one-hour scripted drama, and CBC marked 20 seasons with a look back at Amber Marshall's journey on the ranch. Not many shows keep a whole family of fans coming back for two decades, but this one does.

So mark your calendars: November 19, then every Thursday, with a holiday break and a return on January 14.
