If you turned on CBS this Tuesday expecting your NCIS fix and got election maps instead, you're not alone. CBS pulled all three NCIS shows on November 3 to air America Decides: Election 2026, but there's good news: it's only a one-week break.

Why there was no NCIS on November 3

November 3, 2026 was midterm election night in the U.S., and CBS handed its whole prime-time lineup to live coverage starting at 7 p.m. ET. Collider reported that this meant no NCIS, no NCIS: New York and no NCIS: Origins. Parade noted that ABC and NBC also bumped their Tuesday shows for the elections.

It stings a little because the Tuesday lineup only came back on October 6. But one week off is nothing for a franchise that has been on the air since 2003.

The November 10 schedule

All three shows return Tuesday, November 10, in their regular time slots, according to Just Jared and Bleeding Cool:

  • 8 p.m. ET/PT – NCIS, Season 24, Episode 5: "Speechless." The team works a missing Marine case that leads them to a young girl with a special talent.
  • 9 p.m. ET/PT – NCIS: New York, Season 1, Episode 5: "True Love." A naval interrogator is found murdered in her home, and Nick deals with the investigation into his old NYPD partner.
  • 10 p.m. ET/PT – NCIS: Origins, Season 3, Episode 5: "Baila Esta Cumbia." In 1993, the murder of a con woman hits close to home for Lala. In the present day, Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and Bishop (Emily Wickersham) team up for an intense interrogation.

Yes, you read that right: Harmon and Wickersham sharing a scene. That alone makes it worth the wait.

A big season so far

It's been a busy fall for the whole franchise. Over on the flagship show, Michael Weatherly's Tony DiNozzo has stepped into a leadership role after Director Leon Vance's exit. We covered what Weatherly and the showrunner said about how long Tony is sticking around, so check that out if you missed it.

NCIS: New York is the brand-new spinoff, with LL Cool J back as Sam Hanna alongside Scott Caan as Nick Schaeffer. Meanwhile, NCIS: Origins keeps digging into young Gibbs' early days with Austin Stowell in the lead, while Harmon shows up as present-day Gibbs.

The flagship still has its familiar faces too: Sean Murray as McGee, Wilmer Valderrama as Torres, Katrina Law as Knight, Brian Dietzen as Jimmy Palmer, Diona Reasonover as Kasie and Gary Cole as Parker.
