The 75-year-old actor is stepping back into the role of Leroy Jethro Gibbs, returning to the camera for the prequel series NCIS: Origins. The best part? He isn't doing it alone. Set photos show an awesome on-screen reunion with Emily Wickersham, who is reprising her fan-favorite role as Eleanor "Ellie" Bishop.

After wrapping up their scenes together, Wickersham shared a bunch of behind-the-scenes shots on Instagram. One sweet selfie features the two of them sharing a tight hug, alongside other snaps with the crew. For longtime fans of the original series, seeing these two familiar faces back together is a serious nostalgia trip.

Sporting a clean-shaven look, Harmon looks right at home on set. Wickersham captioned her photo post with a heartfelt message: "A little piece of my origin story... I love this show, these people, and being a tiny part of it."

The epic comeback happened thanks to a simple phone call from co-creator David North, who Wickersham had previously worked with on the original series. Because she loves his work and respects what Origins is doing, she jumped at the chance to drop back in.

"It was really fun," she shared with TV Insider. "It was like we were just picking right back up. It felt like no time had passed." Even though roughly six years had gone by since they last filmed together, their effortless on-screen chemistry hadn't missed a beat.

Harmon has stayed tightly linked to the franchise ever since stepping away from the flagship show in 2021. Alongside producing NCIS: Origins, he's previously popped up in the prequel via special cameos as his legendary character.
